Danielle Smith and the UCP government have once again reversed the 1976 Coal Development Policy, opening some of Alberta’s most beautiful and environmentally sensitive lands to coal exploration and open-pit mining.
These drastic changes are being made without consulting Albertans or fully assessing the risks to our ranching and grazing lands, pristine mountain landscapes, and—most importantly—our water supply..
While the UCP government continues to ignore thousands of concerned voices, we believe Albertans deserve to be heard.
